Irish 20 years old Scouting Ireland.

Why are you here?

I have a strong motivation to raise awareness of the situation faced by refugees in Europe. This follows my work help helping with the rap project (Refugee access program) organised by Scouting Ireland. I am also studying event management back in Ireland and will continue to do this once I return home, so I am looking forward to the opportunity to organise events here, using and developing my skills.

Favorite moment on the project so far?

Meeting all the children at the Family Shelter, run by Arsis, and seeing their enthusiasm for the activities we have planned.

Your strengths?

I have very strong people skills and have also been told that I am a good listener, which I hope to put into practice on this project. I am also skilled at making things, everything from paper aeroplanes to furniture out of pallets!

How do you relax?

I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, and other outdoor activities – I was even thinking of training to be a rock climbing instructor when I return to Ireland. For complete relaxation though, I listen to music or indulge in a bit of Netflix.

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

The lively theme tune to the American police drama, Hawaii Five-O:

If you were a film character, who would it be?

The cookie monster from the kids’ TV show, Sesame Street.
