Belgian scouting girl, recruited by WOSM.
Why are you here?
I was already looking for new challenges and adventures when I found the call for volunteers. It was a great opportunity for me to discover new cultures and new people. Moreover, I was interested in the issues faced by young refugees and migrants.
Favourite moment on the project so far?
In the last two weeks we had training and our first visits of the shelters. I was really interested by the Psychological first aid training we got. I also really liked to get in touch with the different staff of the shelter. They have a lot experience and are very supportive of our project.
Your proudest moment?
It is not easy to find a particular moment I am proud of. But I am quite proud that most of the time I am able to make up a solution to most of the challenging situations I face.
For this project I think it is that I have a lot of experience with children. Moreover, I really like to discover new cultures and being in touch with new people.
I also have good interpersonal and intercultural skills which can be of great help in multicultural environment.
How do you relax?
With a movie or quality time with my friends
If you had a theme song, what would it be?
I think it would be ‘Try everything’ of Shakira – Zootopia. It brings a lot of good memories up.
If you were a film character, who would it be?
Actually I have one given by my scouting group which is Zazu, the hornbill of the Lion King. Why? Because, according to them, I am serious, responsible and I always know a lot. I also speak a lot.
